LA Times Daily Podcast Highlights

Starting a daily podcast is never an easy feat, especially when you’re integrating a historic print publication into audio storytelling.

The concept of this podcast is to share the news from a west coast perspective, and to center voices and stories that mirror the diversity of the western hemisphere - taking into account the powerful influences of Asian and the Latin American regions. With host Gustavo Arellano, we shaped content that is intelligent, thoughtful — and peppered with humor and empathy.

With a small and mighty team we were able to carve a space in the daily audio landscape, competing with well-resourced agencies like the New York Times and NPR. After a year, the podcast reached 70K daily downloads, grow the team, and receive recognition and awards including a nomination for an Ambie in the Daily News category.

You can check out the show at LATimes.com, including a sampling of episodes I produced right over there on your right.
